Valentine’s Day and related romantic events this month may be enough for lovey-dovey gays. But what about single horndogs looking for lust in all the right places? Fortunately, a variety of slutty events at Bay Area venues offer a frisky feast of options this month.
If candy hearts, chocolates and bouquets of flowers aren’t your style, consider some unusual February events focusing on romance for singles, couples and, well, whatever combination shoots that arrow through your heart.
The festive monthly club night went hip hop with a Nicki Minaj tribute night. Drag shows and fun included Trannyshack guru Heklina as Hicki Minaj (and DJing upstairs), host Joshua J, numbers by Mercedez Munro, Charisma Glitterati, Mahlae, Manicure Versace, Robert Jeffrey, Kallisto, and on the main floor, DJ Josh Sparber from New York.
The Endup, one of San Francisco’s oldest nightclubs, has managed to endure 38 years of tumultuous history while maintaining its popularity. The club was made famous in Armistead Maupin’s 1976 novel ‘Tales of the City,’ when Michael “Mouse” Tolliver enters an underwear gogo contest. The “wet jocks strap” version was also featured in a porn movie.
New Year’s parties can be hilarious fun or a horrid nightmare. While pretty much every bar -gay, straight or undecided- will have some sort of New Year’s celebrations, we’ve chosen the gayest, most festive, and a few straight parties with a cool queer edge.
